Welding work requires a minimum of personal protection such as a welding mask, a pair of gloves and suitable clothing, but it also requires protecting the immediate environment with a welding screen and nearby objects with heat-resistant curtains.
Fire risks are obviously multiplied in the absence or inadequacy of protection.
During grinding or welding operations, the risk is the projection of sparks or spatter. These projections can cause burns and therefore pain, but also the start of a fire.
